Personally, I think they are weird....was married to one, and thank god he did it after I divorced him, and saw it and it repulsed me...are you gay, or bi? Why do you want to paint your toe nails...you must be mighty young, and don't look at how people perceive you when you do this, if you show it off in sandals or something..some like it, but, personally, I think it's a woman's thing, or someone who is bi or gay.
Depends on the color
Well, I guess that if a guy was painting his nails clear or with a nutritive nail polish (to make them less brittle) it would be ok. After all, he is just making them look healthier. Any other colors would be kind of Boy George-ish.

my husband once polished his toenails to prove to me that it wouldn't flake off (mine were always flaking off and i was complaining so he tried it just to see) and other reasons like that.
I think they're crazy.
Nobody gives a rat's azz what you do with your toe nails. But for god sakes, use proper english. The word is wheN and THEIR.
They were sleeping when their girlfriend painted them, they are gay, or they part of a weird group.
If it's a clear nail conditioning one there's nothing wrong with it! I wish more guys would take care of their nasty toes! (If thats not opening me up to some feedback from guys!! But come on you know its true, take a look at 'em guys!)

I think a nice clearcoat is completely acceptable. I'm not sure about doing an actual color though. Personally, I wouldn't place a color on my toes... but hey.. whatever does it for ya!
i think they are off in their upper story.i mean,why would a guy wear paint on their toe nails.

ReplyDeleteI guess you are ok with women par opportunity, no? Being able to do whatever a guy can do, being able to demostrate your competence on such jobs. Math, phisics etc? Being in control of your life and not being confined in what men used to define as boundary of gender roles.
I hope you would allow the same freedome to men. But sorry it doesn't seem you do, it's like you are assuming a man is not in control of his life, that even a bit of color could change his orientation.

the only relationship with gay people is that some gay people identify more with a woman image. That's only a part of gay people. Most gay people are masculine men who like masculine guys. Dealing with stereotype opens them more with questioning the gender stereotypes also. So unlike most straight men, they have no problem painting their nails, even if they like, also as a man.
And I also think you are confusing gender identity with orientation.
The fallacy is that just because some gay people and trans people who identify as woman wear nail polish as a woman, that doesn't mean all guys wearing nail polish do it as a woman or because they are gay or that they are doing it as a woman.

Wouldn't you prefer a man which is autonomous from such judgement, also i guess most people don't it find weird as you do.
Now that I think, is your finding it weird an induced mass thought, as I see you are extending your perception of weirdness about it, attributing it to the masses, to seemingly reinforce it.
In any case how people perceive it, is based on ever changing esthetical costumes, which is not law. It's already changing. Would you say only what's "normal" is right? And also how do costume change if all people conform to the current trends? Are you one that ask yourself if something is "in" or "trendy"?

No, it's perceived as a woman thing, but can't mean do it just because they like the look of it? Try to go past you prejudgement and look at it from an artistic point of view. It's not like some caked up makeup and drag queen look.
